Clean comfortable hotel

The staff was friendly and they accommodated our group and received our luggage and then held it for us all day. The room was clean and comfortable

It was a little cramped for our family, but we also know that's sort of the hotels here.

Great value for money, simple accommodation.

Relatively spacious, clean room with a window that opens (hooray)! Comfy bed. Great value for money.

Check-in/check-out is almost completely automated as is entry to the property. This would be fine but I booked the day before check-in and none of the check-in codes arrived until after I had checked in... effectively leaving me stranded outside the hotel until someone buzzed me in (the call staff button didn't seem to work either...)

Great stay and location

Self check in and check out. Clean room, super location and complimentary toiletries.

Perhaps clean every second instead of third day. An English TV channel would have been nice.

Good value for money, the beds were very hard and uncomfortable.

The location was quite and close to supermarkets and restaurants, it was in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle.

No room service, and this was not explained at check-in, if you wanted a fresh towel then you had to pick it up from the reception area.

Overall a good value stay, but certainly not a luxurious one.

- Affordable and good price - Check in process is fast - Surrounding area has cute shops / restaurants

- There was a stain on the bedsheet when we first checked in - The staff is not always available - Can sometimes hear water running from other rooms - Cleaning every three days

Very Good

This is a great hotel for a few nights' stay in Kyoto. The rooms are simple but clean and surprisingly spacious (especially by Japanese standards!). Comfortable beds, a good location, and a quiet neighbourhood with lovely, traditional Japanese buildings. There's also a market nearby with excellent spots for breakfast and lunch. I especially recommend the breakfast place, in the market opposite the temple. Very nice older owners and a delicious breakfast :)

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful, but they did not speak English, which made it difficult to handle more complicated matters. The window opened onto a metal fence, making the room very dark.

Rooms are having really thin walls, so we could hear people fighting/talking in the very end of the corridor.

Great location, pleasant, quiet hotel but very little storage in the room.

Very quiet hotel in a very pretty area near Nijo castle/

The room was very small, which was fine, but there was no storage at all. How hard would be to put a shelf or two up?

Nice, clean room with good value-for money

It was Nice and clean room. Good value for money. The wifi was fine and checkout was super easy. I Think the location was great, as it was a more quiet, local neighboorhood with several good restaurants, but in walking distance to several bus stops and a metro station

During check-in I had to write several things on a screen with my finger, which was quite difficult and took some time. It would have been easier with a pen or a keyboard+using the finger for the final signature

A comfortable and well situated hotel in downtown Kyoto

The hotel is in an excellent location near the Sanjo Shopping Street and Nijo-jo Castle. It is a short walk to Nijo train station. The room was large by Japanese standards and the bed was very comfortable. Although the hotel did not seem to offer as many in-house services as some other hotels, it is close to many cafes, restaurants etc and I had everything I needed.

The only issue I had was that some noise from guests in the corridor could be heard through the room door.

Calm, central location with spacy rooms!

The location is perfect. It is central but, contrary to the center of Kyoto, it’s calm, quiet and local. The room was spacy, a lot of sun light, and clean. Everything works with codes (there is no reception) but it worked out perfectly.

It did not provide pijamas :( nothing to complaint other than that!

Great neighbourhood near covered Sanjo shopping area

New and very clean and in a great location - just under 5 mins walk to the underground / metro. Sweet neighbourhood so you can get a feeling of how the people of Kyoto live. Mattress is good - not a futon, thankfully, though only a double size. Very clean bathroom, usb charging points were very handy.

It would be nice if the on-duty receptionist could sit at the front desk, not behind a closed door- it’s a bizarre set up and feels cold, even though staff were nice. Also, the 4 pm check in time is outrageous - why so late ? Nice that they mind your luggage before check-in time, but considering our room was not serviced during our stay (and I’m fine with this, saves water and the planet) how do they justify such a late check-in time when there’s a six hour window for cleaning vacated rooms from 10 am until 4 pm? Also - no one would have noticed that we checked out before 8 a.m, as there’s no check- out process- felt strange and again, this should be reviewed and I think check-in time brought forward. Staff would’ve had eight hours to clean our room, but there was no way of them knowing.

i like the location and the cleanliness. i think enough for traveling to kyoto, easy to go around kyoto.

probably i miss, but i dont like paying any extra tax on arrival :(

Great comfort

The room was huge compared to our other experiences. Room temperature was great compared as well. Bed was also very big & comfortable. Room entry with the code instead of the card is very handy.

We could not figure out how to get the TV working.

Nice, clean and modern. Very close to convenience store and quite close to public transport.

The absence of staff and checking in with a machine can be a bit frustrating. The fact that they have such a modern setup, but no contactless payment feature baffled me.
